Walton Reassigned To Crunch From Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Bombers announced that the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie right wing Brent Walton to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League and that right wing Jeff Szwez has been reassigned to Dayton from Syracuse.

The Bombers are the ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League and the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Walton, who will turn 23 on Thursday, scored his first point and his first goal as a professional when he had two goals in the Bombers 4-2 win against Dayton on Saturday. He has played four games for the Bombers after appearing in one game with Syracuse before being reassigned on Oct. 20.

The 25-year-old Szwez has seven penalty minutes in seven games with Syracuse. He played for both Dayton and Syracuse in 2005-06 and had a team-leading 25 goals, 47 points and 90 penalty minutes in 51 games for the Bombers and 11 points (5g-6a) and 52 penalty minutes in 21 games for the Crunch.
