Thomas Signs Extension With Thunder

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that they have signed head coach Matt Thomas to a two-year contract extension.

The 33 year old replaced Chris Cichocki on Dec. 29, 2008 and led the Thunder to a 22-16-3 record to advance to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the third straight season. Stockton lost in seven games to Las Vegas in the Pacific Division Finals after upsetting regular season division winner Ontario in the semifinals.

The Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
