Six teams remain alive for the final three spots in the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs as the ECHL regular season enters its final weekend.
Two of the three remaining playoff spots are in the North Division, where entering the final weekend of play, Kalamazoo and Cincinnati own the final two spots. The K-Wings can punch their ticket tonight with a win, or a regulation loss by either the Cyclones or Wheeling. Kalamazoo hosts Fort Wayne tonight and Toledo tomorrow before visiting the Walleye on Sunday. Cincinnati visits Toledo tonight and Fort Wayne tomorrow in its final two games of the season. The Cyclones have a two-point lead on both Wheeling and Indy for the fourth and final playoff spot in the division.
Despite sitting two points behind the Cyclones, Wheeling controls its own destiny as the Nailers have three games remaining and would win the tiebreaker over Cincinnati if both teams finish with 76 points, provided Wheeling wins all three games this weekend in regulation or overtime.
Indy is still alive in the playoff race, but will need to win both games at Reading this weekend and receive some help from other teams.
The other remaining playoff spot is in the Pacific Division where Utah enters the final two games of the season with a three-point lead on Alaska. The Grizzlies can wrap up the spot tonight with a win or an Alaska regulation loss. Utah would also clinch the spot with an overtime or shootout loss coupled with an Alaska loss of any kind.
