Thunder Assigned Four Players From Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that rookie center Toby LaFrance, rookie right wing Jamie Bates, right wing Justin Chwedoruk and defenseman Milan Maslonka have been assigned to Stockton from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

The Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of the Thunder of the AHL and the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.

The 21-year-old LaFrance signed with Texas on Apr. 2 after completing his career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League had two goals in two regular season games and four points (2g-2a) and two penalty minutes in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Wildcatters.

The 23-year-old Bates played four seasons at Quinnipiac University where he had 129 points (52g-77a) and 88 penalty minutes in 143 games from 2004-08.

Chwedoruk had 30 points (17g-13a) and 109 penalty minutes in 66 games with Bakersfield and Wheeling in 2007-08 while Maslonka played in the Central Hockey League where he had seven points (3g-4a) and 298 penalty minutes in 56 regular season games and two penalty minutes in two playoff games for Youngstown.
