Thunder Signs Martens, Johnson

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that they have signed defensemen Nick Martens and Tony Johnson.

Martens played four seasons at the University of Michigan scoring 31 points (7g-24a) in 129 games and helped the team reach the NCAA Frozen Four two times.

In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 25-year-old Johnson had nine points (2g-7a) in 64 games with Pee Dee in the ECHL. The 6-foot and 190-pound Johnson played four seasons at Merrimack College where he had 43 points (9g-34a) in 130 games.
