Thunder Signs Veteran Stork

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that they have signed veteran defenseman Dean Stork.

In 2004-05, the 29-year-old Stork had 25 points (4g-21a) and 62 penalty minutes in 62 games with Texas before being traded to Columbia where he had three points (1g-2a) and two penalty minutes in 11 regular season games and also played in five Kelly Cup Playoff games.

Stork began his professional career in 1998-99 when he joined Portland of the American Hockey League after completing his season at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and had two assists and 13 penalty minutes in 10 games.

In his first full professional season in 1999-2000, Stork had 18 points (5g-13a) and 69 penalty minutes in 52 regular season games and three assists in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games with Hampton Roads while also playing three games with Portland in the AHL.

Stork has 116 points (32g-84a) and 423 penalty minutes in 377 regular season ECHL games and has reached the Kelly Cup Playoffs four times, registering four assists and 20 penalty minutes in 22 games.
