Thunder Trades For Martz

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that they have acquired center Nathan Martz from the Las Vegas Wranglers in exchange for the rights to center Derek Edwardson.

In his first professional season with Long Beach in 2004-05, the 24-year-old Martz tied for second in the ECHL with a plus-minus rating of +34.

Selected in the fifth round (140th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2 and 180-pound Martz ranked second on the team with 35 assists while tying for fifth in goals with 16 and points with 51 in 63 games. He also had one assist and two penalty minutes in six Kelly Cup Playoff games.
