“Tip-A-Gull” Raises More Than $37,000

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Gulls announced that “Tip-A-Gull” raised more than $37,000 for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego County and KSWB Cares for Kids, the largest amount in the 14-year history of the annual event.

During the event, Gulls players serve as waiters, greeters and bartenders for the standing-room-only crowd. The evening also included Gulls play-by-play announcer Chris Ello hosting a live auction that featured Major League Baseball, National Football League and Gulls memorabilia.

The highlight of the auction was the opportunity to have a “date” with Gulls players Jonathan Shockey and Sean Murphy with the winning bidders paying $800.
