Titans add four players to roster

TRENTON, N.J. – The Trenton Titans announced that they have signed forwards Taylor Vichorek and Rob Bordson along with defensemen Andy Thomas and Chris Berenguer for the 2011-12 season. 


The Titans are the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

Vichorek, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound native of Moose Lake, Minn., scored 15 points (4g-11a) in 68 games with the Trenton Devils last season as a rookie.

Thomas, 25, is veteran ECHL performer and a native of Bow, N.H. He spent time with the Bakersfield Condors in 2008-09 and 2009-10 and with Trenton in 2010-11, amassing 41 points (5g-36a) in 136 ECHL games. He had a plus-16 rating in 71 games with Trenton in 2009-10. He also has had three call-ups to the AHL, appearing with the Iowa Chops (2008-09), Lowell Devils (2009-10) and Albany Devils (2010-11), performing in 54 games at that level.

Berenguer, 25, who earned the Sid Watson Award as the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Player of the Year for his 2010-11 season at Hamline University, appeared in eight games with the Trenton Devils last season, registering six assists.

Bordson, 23, played collegiately at his hometown University of Minnesota-Duluth and played in 76 AHL games last season – 61 with the Adirondack Phantoms and 16 with the Syracuse Crunch – scoring 24 points (8g-16a).
