Toledo’s Hedden Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Toledo Walleye left wing Mike Hedden is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 31-Feb. 6.

           

The 26 year old scored four goals, added an assist and was a +4 as Toledo won a pair of games at Gwinnett.

           

Hedden opened the week with two goals and an assist in a 6-3 win on Friday and then scored two more goals in a 5-2 victory on Saturday marking the third consecutive game in which he scored two goals. He scored the game-winning goal in both games over the weekend.

           

A native of Dunnville, Ontario, Hedden has 18 points (13g-5a) in 30 games with the Walleye this season. He also appeared in one American Hockey League game with Grand Rapids.

           

Last season as a rookie, Hedden scored 32 points (18g-14a) in 66 regular-season games with Toledo and added three assists in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.

           

On behalf of Mike Hedden a case of pucks will be donated to a Toledo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
