Toronto Signs Former ECHL Forward Perrott

TORONTO, Ontario – The Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed free agent forward Nathan Perrott, who played in the ECHL as a rookie.

The Columbia Inferno is the ECHL affiliate of the Marlies of the AHL and the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

The 30 year old scored his first goal and registered his first assist and had 14 points (6g-8a) and 135 penalty minutes in 30 games for Jacksonville as a rookie in 1997-98. He also played in the original International Hockey League in 1997-98 and had seven points (4g-3a) and 76 penalty minutes in 31 games for Indianapolis.

The 6-foot and 225-pound right wing had 19 penalty minutes in four games with the Marlies in 2006-07. He played in the NHL in 2005-06 and had three points (2g-1a) and 54 penalty minutes in 23 games with Dallas which acquired him in exchange for a fifth-round draft choice on Nov. 6, 2005 from Toronto where he had two penalty minutes in three games.

He has played parts of four seasons in the NHL and has nine points (4g-5a) and 251 penalty minutes with Dallas, Nashville and Toronto.
