Trenton Agrees To Terms With Sokol, Byers

TRENTON, N.J. – The Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans announced that they have agreed to terms with rookie forward Jimmy Sokol and defenseman Cole Byers.

Trenton is the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League and the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

The 26-year-old Sokol enters his first full professional season after finishing his career at Utica College where he led the team with 13 goals, 17 assists and 30 points in 27 games in 2004-05. The 5-foot-9 and 179-pound Sokol signed with Fort Worth of the Central Hockey League after finishing his college season and scored five points (3g-2a) in seven games.

In 2004-05, the 22-year-old Byers had 37 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Victoria Salmon Kings while also playing in the LNAH for Sorel-Tracy and Quebec.
