PRINCETON, N.J. – Victoria defenseman Brad Dexter is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for December 6-12.
Dexter scored two goals and had five points as the Salmon Kings had the best week in team history, getting seven of a possible eight points after going 3-0-1 to improve to 6-10-3. The 5-10 and 180-pound Dexter had an assist and was +3 in Victoria’s historic first-ever home win, a 5-2 victory over West Division leader Bakersfield on Tuesday. After scoring a goal in the Salmon Kings’ 8-6 win against Bakersfield on Wednesday, Dexter scored the game-winning goal, added an assist and was +3 in a 5-1 win against Mississippi on Friday, giving Victoria its first-ever three-game winning streak. He closed out the week with an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss to Mississippi on Sunday, extending his scoring streak to six games (3g-5a).
Dexter leads ECHL defensemen with 14 assists, 19 points, nine power-play assists and 10 power-play points and he is tied for the league lead among defensemen with five goals and one game-winning goal. He is tied for the team lead in power-play assists and ranks second in power-play points while ranking second on the team in scoring and assists.
