Walleye Receive Aliu From AHL

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye announced that forward Akim Aliu has been reassigned to the Walleye by the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League from Rockford of the American Hockey League.

The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and Grand Rapids and Rockford of the American Hockey League. Mike Haviland, who is one of two coaches to lead two different teams to the Kelly Cup Championship, and John Torchetti, who was a coach and player in the ECHL, are assistant coaches for the Blackhawks while former ECHL goaltender Wade Flaherty is the developmental goaltending coach for the organization. Former ECHL player and coach Al MacIsaac is the Senior Director of Hockey Administration and assistant to the president for the Blackhawks while former ECHL goaltender and assistant coach Mark Bernard is general manager of the Blackhawks minor league affiliates and former ECHL coach Ted Dent is the assistant coach for Rockford.
