Walleye Trade Charlebois To K-Wings For Doig

The Kalamazoo Wings announce the completion of a trade with the Toledo Walleye for defenseman Joe Charlebois. In return, the Walleye will acquire forward Tyler Doig.

 


In eight games with Kalamazoo, Doig earned five points (1g-4a). Doig has appeared in eight games this year with the K-Wings, scoring once and collecting four assists.  The 24 year old native of Seaforth, Ontario scored 17 goals with 51 assists in 69 games for his best offensive season last year with the Charlotte Checkers.  For his career, Doig has appeared in 216 professional games with 48 goals scored and 133 assists.  

 


A former sixth round (188th overall) selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft of the Chicago Blackhawks, Charlebois is participating in his second full season as a professional. Charlebois spent a majority of the career with the Walleye, including 18 games this season. The native of Potsdam, New York has recorded 28 points in his pro career.

Before turning pro, Charlebois played collegiate hockey at the University of New Hampshire. Charlebois was named Hockey East’s Best Defenseman during the 2007-08 season and had a team best plus-26. The defenseman was also the Wildcats team captain during his senior campaign (2008-09).
