Matt White scored a pair of goals to lead the Ontario Reign to a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday in the 25th Game 7 in ECHL postseason history. The Reign win the series 4 games to 3, and advance to meet Utah in the Pacific Division Finals. Ontario is just the eighth team in ECHL history to win a best-of-seven series after trailing 3 games to 2.
Colorado struck first as Kyle Kraemer tallied 14:09 into the opening period, but Ontario answered right back 2:40 later to tie the game on a power-play tally from White.
Garry Nunn broke the tie with his third goal of the playoffs at 11:47 of the second period, and the Reign stretched the lead to 4-1 on goals from White and Everett Sheen just 1:32 apart late in the frame.
The Eagles got one back to make it a two-goal game entering the final period as Kramer tallied a power-play goal with 12 seconds remaining in the period.
