Wild Acquires Former Titan Wood

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Wild announced that they have acquired defenseman Dustin Wood and center Erik Westrum from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchanged for defenseman Zybynek Michalek.

Wood began his professional career with Trenton and was named to the 2003 ECHL All-Star Game.

In his rookie season in 2002-03, the 6-1 and 208-pound Wood scored 27 points (4g-23a) in 63 regular season games and had one assist in three playoff games for Trenton. He also appeared in six regular season games with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.

Signed as a free agent by Phoenix on June 2, 2004, the 24-year-old Wood scored 10 points in 80 games with Utah of the American Hockey League in 2004-05. In 2003-04, the 23-year-old Wood scored eight points (2g-6a) in 75 games with Springfield of the AHL.
