Wild Calls Former Wildcatter Kopriva Up To NHL

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that former Texas Wildcatters goaltender Miroslav Kopriva has been called up to the National Hockey League by the Minnesota Wild.

Kopriva has been playing in the American Hockey League for the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of Houston.

Selected in the sixth round (187th overall) and under NHL contract to the Wild, the 23-year-old is 8-1-2 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .902 in 17 games for Texas and 2-2-1 with a goals-against average of 3.03 and a save percentage of .915 in eight games with Houston.

It is the second time that he has been called up to Minnesota having served as the backup goaltender for Manny Fernandez on Apr. 15, 2006 at Dallas.
