BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that they have acquired defenseman Ryan Moren from the Alaska Aces as part of a three-team trade. Texas traded the ECHL rights of John Snowden to Greenville in exchange for Moren, who was acquired by Greenville in exchange for Colin Shields. In addition to Moren, the Wildcatters will receive an additional player to be named later from Greenville.
In 2004-05 with Alaska, the 25-year-old scored a career-high seven goals and tied his career best with 22 points in 65 regular season games and scored his first postseason point with one assist in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games.
The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Moren has played two seasons in the ECHL with Alaska scoring 35 points (9g-26a) in 115 regular season ECHL games and registering one assist in 14 Kelly Cup Playoff games. He played his first professional season with the Aces in the West Coast Hockey League, scoring 22 points (6g-16a) in 72 games.
