Wildcatters Do Not Renew Dirk’s Contract

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that they will not renew the contract of Head Coach Robert Dirk for 2005-06 and that a search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

Texas was 17-44-11 and finished sixth in the South Division of the American Conference in 2004-05. The only coach in team history, Dirk was 39-88-17 in two seasons.

“We concluded that it would be in the organization’s best interest for both the team and Robert to move in a new direction,” said Wildcatters owner Rick Adams. “We appreciate his work behind the bench over the last two seasons and the contributions that he and his family have made to the community. Robert is a consummate professional and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
