Wildcatters Receive Rookie Kassian From Houston

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that rookie right wing Matt Kassian has been assigned to the team from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of the Aeros of the AHL and the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the second round (57th overall) by Minnesota in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-4 and 236-pound forward has 16 penalty minutes in four games with Houston after playing the last four seasons in the Western Hockey League where he had 36 points (17g-19a) and 523 penalty minutes in 245 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) and 18 penalty minutes in 13 playoff games with Vancouver and Kamloops from 2003-07.
