Wranglers Agree To Terms With
Hunter, McKnight, Spencer

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced that they have agreed to terms with rookie forwards Matt McKnight and Luke Hunter and forward Tim Spencer.

The Wranglers are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League and the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League. Former Dayton Bombers coach Jim Playfair is associate coach for Calgary while former ECHL player Jamie McLennan is the director of goaltender development for the Flames.

The 22-year-old Spencer played for Alaska as a rookie in 2007-08 and had 15 points (3g-12a) and 130 penalty minutes in 63 games.

Selected in the ninth round (280th overall) by the Dallas Stars in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old McKnight has played the last four years at the University of Minnesota Duluth where he had 69 points (25g-44a) and 80 penalty minutes in 132 games.

The 23-year-old Hunter had 11 points (5g-6a) and 52 penalty minutes in 31 games for the University of Calgary in 2007-08 after playing five seasons in the Western Hockey League where he had 123 points (62g-61a) and 225 penalty minutes in 315 regular season games and one goal and 10 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games for Swift Current.
