CHARLESTON, S.C. – Welcome to the glamorous side of pro hockey – the 6 a.m. flight out of Anchorage, the dreaded middle seat on the Seattle-Washington, D.C., leg of the journey, the luggage and equipment that doesn’t show up, the interminable wait for the hotel courtesy van.
The Alaska Aces made the trip from Anchorage to here on Sunday, which melted into Monday. One highlight was the flight from Washington, D.C., to Charleston, sitting on the tarmac in a plane that was roasting.
