ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Like any hockey player, Bryan Miller is never thrilled to play the part of crash-test dummy, yet a teeth-rattling hit he absorbed may have been the best thing to happen to him this season.
Miller skated away from the scene of the smash-up unharmed, and that told him his career was back on track.
Coming off his fourth, and most extensive, shoulder surgery, the defenseman makes his Alaska Aces season debut on Friday in Utah when the club plays its first ECHL road game this season.
Miller already is three games into his comeback, having skated for the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League before being assigned to the Aces earlier this week.
