Aces Sign Neilson

ANCHORAGE – The Alaska Aces announced that they have signed right wing Eric Neilson.

The Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (143rd overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Neilson has played his first two seasons in the ECHL where he has 10 points (6g-4a) and 295 penalty minutes in 111 games.

The 6-foot-1 and 201-pound Neilson, who will turn 23 on Saturday, had six points (4g-2a) and 131 penalty minutes in 64 games for Long Beach in 2006-07.

He played four seasons for Rimouski in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, including two years as a teammate of Sydney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
