ANCHORAGE – If recent hockey history is a road map to rink royalty, the Las Vegas Wranglers are skating the path to playoff prosperity.
In each of the previous four seasons, the winner of the ECHL’s Kelly Cup had to eliminate either the Wranglers or the Alaska Aces, or both, to hoist the hardware.
The Wranglers lead the Aces 3-0 in the best-of-7 National Conference semifinal series entering Thursday’s Game 4 at Sullivan Arena.
Given the Aces are still alive against the Wranglers, you could argue — though not very convincingly — that they are on the same path.
