Alaska’s Sandoval Receives
ECHL Marketing Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Monday that George Sandoval of the Alaska Aces is the 2004-05 recipient of the recipient of the ECHL Marketing Award.

Sandoval received his award at the annual ECHL Marketing and Communications Meetings held June 6-8 in Las Vegas. The meetings were attended by more than 160 representatives from ECHL teams. The winner is chosen in a vote of league general managers and marketing directors.

Sandoval joined the Aces in January 2004 and has overseen the development of more than $300,000 in new revenue for the team, including the creation of a new marketing division called Aces Properties which encompasses the four city-owned SMG Entertainment-operated facilities, including Sullivan Arena.

Prior to working with the Aces, Sandoval spent six years in radio sales in San Diego and one year as sales manager for Infinity Broadcasting in Sacramento, Calif. He graduated from Alaska Pacific University and owned and operated a successful advertising agency in Anchorage during the mid-1990s.
