Albany Assigns Kinkel To Grizzlies

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies announced that left wing Bill Kinkel has been assigned to the team by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (281st overall) by the New Jersey Devils in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and under AHL contract to Albany, the 22-year-old began the season with the Florida Everblades and has 95 penalty minutes in 25 games.

The 6-foot-5 and 239-pound Kinkel led Houston of the AHL with 190 penalty minutes and he had six points (3g-3a) in 56 games in 2005-06.

In his rookie season in 2004-05, Kinkel had four points (3g-1a) and 180 penalty minutes in 30 games for Pensacola before being recalled to Houston of the AHL where he had three goals and 41 penalty minutes in 12 games for the Aeros. The three goals came on March 30, the day he was recalled from Pensacola, against Cincinnati when Kinkel became the first Aeros rookie to register a hat trick in over three years.
