Americans sign Dyson Stevenson

Allen, Texas – The defending Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans announced that the club has signed forward Dyson Stevenson for the 2015-16 season.

The Americans are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s San Jose Sharks and the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda.

Stevenson joined the Americans late in the 2014-15 campaign and played a key role in the Americans’ championship run, scoring eight points (3g-5a) in 23 playoff games and bringing a physical presence to the Americans lineup. The 22-year-old also played in 46 games last season with Gwinnett, where he had 16 points (8g-8a) and 144 penalty minutes. He also played in six American Hockey League games last season, combined with Portland and Bridgeport.

A native of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Stevenson recorded 168 points (75g-93a) in 252 career Western Hockey League games with Regina.
