ANAHEIM – The Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed defenseman Brett Skinner, who played for the Augusta Lynx in 2006-07.
The Lynx are the ECHL affiliate of the Stanley Cup champion Ducks and the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the third round (68th overall) by Vancouver in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 24 year old had four points (1g-3a) and eight penalty minutes in five games with Augusta. He also played in the AHL where he had 18 points (6g-12a) and 24 penalty minutes in 41 games with Portland and six assists in 21 regular season games and three assists in five playoff games with Omaha.
Anaheim acquired the 6-foot-1 and 183-pound defenseman and a second-round draft choice in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft from Vancouver on Mar. 9, 2006 in exchange for defensemen Keith Carney and Juha Alen.
