AUGUSTA, Ga. – Last off-season, the first-year ownership group of the Augusta Lynx got off to a late start in preparing for the team’s season.
This off-season, with a full year under its belt, things are running much more smoothly for the team’s front office.
“We’re so far ahead of where we were at this point last year, it’s not even funny,” said Lynx general manager Dan Troutman, one of three co-owners that make up GOAL, the team’s ownership group.
Jan and Robert Burch are the other owners.
“And this is our busiest time of the year,” Troutman said. “So things are going well, and we’re really excited about the upcoming season.”
Troutman said the team has increased its full-time sales staff to four people, and they have a goal of selling in the vicinity of 2,000 season tickets before the home opener Oct. 19 against the Texas Wildcatters.
More than 600 season tickets have already been sold, Troutman said, and the team expects that number to increase to nearly 1,000 soon with more renewals from last season’s ticket-holding base.
“We’re very optimistic about our season ticket sales,” Troutman said. “And as far as sponsorships, we already are looking at bringing in more money than all of last year.”
