Avalanche Sign Former ECHL Forward Guite

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed former ECHL forward Ben Guite to a two-year contract.

Selected in the seventh round (172nd overall) by Montreal in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Guite began his professional career in 2000-01 scoring 29 points (11g-18a) in 68 games with Tallahassee.

The 28 year old began 2006-07 in the American Hockey League where he had 29 points (10g-19a) in 36 games for Albany before being called up to Colorado where he had 11 points (3g-8a) in 39 games for the Avalanche. His first career NHL goal was a shorthand goal against Dominik Hasek of Detroit on Jan. 9, 2007.
