Anthony Langella is in his first season as the “Voice of the Lynx” on B2 Networks, the “Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL,” and on WRDW-AM 1630.
Langella comes to Augusta after working as the play-by-play broadcaster and director of media relations for the Pensacola Ice Pilots in 2007-08 and the Texas Wildcatters in 2006-07. He was a media relations assistant for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League from 2001-06.
He was awarded his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree from the University of Miami where he broadcast Hurricane football, baseball and basketball on WVUM-FM.
Former ECHL broadcasters working in the National Hockey League include John Ahlers and Steve Carroll of the Anaheim Ducks, Tom Callahan of the Nashville Predators, Dave Goucher of the Boston Bruins, Chris Kerber of the St. Louis Blues, Dave Mishkin of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rob Simpson, who is a producer/host for The NHL Network.
Former ECHL broadcasters working in the American Hockey League include Mike Kelly in Springfield, Alex Kyrias, in Iowa, Eric Lindquist in Worcester, Bob McElligott in Syracuse, John Michael in Lake Erie, Mike O’Brien in Lowell, Joe O’Donnell in Houston, Aaron Roof in Quad City, Jason Shaver in Chicago and Grady Whittenburg in Binghamton.
