Nick Hulberg, Elmira Jackals

Nick Hulberg is in his first season as the “Voice of the Jackals” on B2 Networks, the “Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL,” and on the Jackals Radio Network consisting of 99.5 WOKN-FM “Today’s Hot New Country” in Elmira, N.Y., on 102.5 FM in Corning, N.Y. and on 98.3 WVIN-FM “Today’s Hits and Yesterday’s Favorites” in Bath, N.Y.

The Minot, N.D. native is also the team’s director of broadcasting and communications and is responsible for the club’s media relations and community relations.

Hulberg has spent the past four seasons in the North American Hockey League with Bismarck, beginning as a broadcaster and eventually becoming director of media and broadcasting. He was selected to broadcast the 2008 NAHL Top Prospects All-Star Tournament and the 2008 NAHL National Tournament.

Hulberg also worked as a broadcaster for Minot in the Continental Basketball Association and for the North Dakota Motocross Association.

Former ECHL broadcasters working in the National Hockey League include John Ahlers and Steve Carroll of the Anaheim Ducks, Tom Callahan of the Nashville Predators, Dave Goucher of the Boston Bruins, Chris Kerber of the St. Louis Blues, Dave Mishkin of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rob Simpson, who is a producer/host for The NHL Network.

Former ECHL broadcasters working in the American Hockey League include Mike Kelly in Springfield, Alex Kyrias, in Iowa, Eric Lindquist in Worcester, Bob McElligott in Syracuse, John Michael in Lake Erie, Mike O’Brien in Lowell, Joe O’Donnell in Houston, Aaron Roof in Quad City, Jason Shaver in Chicago and Grady Whittenburg in Binghamton.
