ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie center Vince Bellissimo from the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League to the Everblades.
The Everblades also announced that rookie defenseman John Adams has been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Grand Rapids Griffins, who have traded Adams to the Cleveland Barons.
The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers of the NHL and the Lock Monsters of the AHL.
Selected in the fifth round (158th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Hurricanes, the 23-year-old Bellissimo has six points (3g-3a) in six games with the Everblades and 14 points (8g-6a) in 47 games with Lowell.
Selected in the third round (82nd overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Adams has 15 points (1g-14a) and 57 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Everblades while also playing in five games with both Grand Rapids and Springfield of the AHL.
