Bixby, Fisher Receive Media Relations Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Friday that Gwinnett Gladiators director of media relations and broadcasting Dustin Bixby and Las Vegas Wranglers director of media relations and broadcasting Josh Fisher are the recipients of the ECHL Media Relations Award for 2006-07.

Bixby, who is the recipient for the American Conference, and Fisher, is the recipient for the National Conference, were presented their awards at the annual ECHL Communication and Marketing Meetings.

Bixby will begin his fifth season in the Gladiators public relations department. He has called the action for every Gladiators game since the organization relocated from Mobile. Prior to joining the Gladiators, Bixby held the same position with Baton Rouge in 2002-03. He began his career in Mobile 2001-02 as Director of broadcasting and media relations.

Fisher, will begin his fifth season with the Wranglers as Director of broadcasting and media relations. Fisher, who finished runner-up for the media relations award in 2005 and 2006 was part of the television broadcast crew for the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game. He has previously worked as the radio voice for Lexington and Columbus.
