Blues Acquire Guenette

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League announced that they have acquired former Victoria Salmon Kings forward Francois-Pierre Guenette from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for former Alaska Aces defenseman Zack Fitzgerald.

Alaska is the ECHL affiliate of the Blues of the NHL and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

The 23-year-old Guenette led Victoria with 42 assists and was fourth on the team with 55 points in 67 regular season games and had four assists in four Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Salmon Kings.

Selected in the seventh round (222nd overall) by Vancouver in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot and 184-pound Guenette had 42 points (12g-30a) and 34 penalty minutes in 68 games for the Columbia Inferno as a rookie in 2005-06.
