Blues Reassign Scheffelmaier To Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Rivermen announced that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned defenseman Brett Scheffelmaier from Worcester of the American Hockey League to Peoria. The Rivermen are the ECHL affiliate of Worcester and St. Louis.

Selected in the third round (75th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and in the sixth round (190th overall) by St. Louis in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Scheffelmaier has been on injured reserve. In 2003-04, the 6-5 and 230-pound Scheffelmaier played 10 games with Peoria, scoring his first professional goal three points (1g-2a), while also playing 23 games in the AHL with Worcester, finishing with one assist and 56 penalty minutes.
