INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, ECHL affiliate of the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, announced that forwards Rhett Bly and Casey Thrush have signed contracts with the team for the 2015-16 season.
A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Bly returns to Indianapolis for his second season with the Fuel while Thrush is entering his first professional campaign following a four-year collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire.
Bly registered 33 points (12g-21a) and 26 penalty minutes last season in 70 appearances for the Fuel. Prior to joining the Fuel last season, Bly played four seasons at Merrimack College where he totaled 43 points (16g-27a) in 143 career games.
A native of Olney, Md., Thrush posted 63 points (20g-43a) in 151 career games at the University of New Hampshire in four seasons of Hockey East competition from 2011-15. In 2014-15, Thrush, 23, tallied 25 points (6g-19a) and a +12 rating in 40 appearances during his senior season. In 2010-11, Thrush registered 28 points (10g-18a)in 59 games with the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks.
