Bobkov returns to Grizzlies

Ontario, Calif. – The Utah Grizzlies announced that goaltender Igor Bobkov has been reassigned to the team by the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Ducks and the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Last year with Utah, Bobkov ranked second in the ECHL with a 2.04 goals-against-average and had a .921 save percentage while going 17-8-4 with the Grizzlies. He was named the league’s Goaltender of the Month in February and March becoming only the second goaltender in ECHL history to win back-to-back monthly awards. He was also named the league’s Goaltender of the Week twice.

A third-round selection (76th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Bobkov has appeared in eight games with Norfolk this season. A native of Surgut, Russia, he spent all of the 2012-13 with  the Admirals where he appeared in 28 games with a record of 11-17-0, a 3.13 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903.
