KETTERING, Ohio – Tyler Kolarik scored two goals and Mike Ayers made 24 saves to pick up the win as the Dayton Bombers beat the Toledo Storm 5-3 in a preseason game at the Kettering Recreation Center on Sunday.
The Bombers took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Jezz Szwez at 1:19 and Marco Caprara at 17:34.
Toledo made it 2-1 on a goal by Jeff Lang at 6:15 of the second period, but Kolarik scored his first goal of the day at 9:15 to give Dayton a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.
Shawn Collymore scored 60 seconds into the third period to make it 3-2, but Scott Cameron and Kolarik scored at 12:37 and 14:05, respectively, to make it 5-2. Toledo’s Jeff Lang closed out the scoring with a goal at 17:44.
