Bombers Sign Van Hoof

DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Bombers announced that they have signed defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof.

The Bombers are the ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League and the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the second round (57th overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and in the seventh round (222nd overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old had 19 points (3g-16a) in 59 games with the Johnstown Chiefs and also played 13 regular season games and five Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Columbia Inferno in 2004-05.

In four ECHL seasons with Pensacola, Johnstown and Columbia, the 6-foot-2 and 185-pound Van Hoof has 59 points (10g-49a) and 248 penalty minutes in 274 regular season games and two points (1g-1a) and 28 penalty minutes in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
