Briggs Returns To Reign

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced the signing of goaltender Kellen Briggs to a standard contract for the 2010-11 season.

The 27 year old Briggs played the 2009-10 season abroad with the Dresden Ice Lions of Germany’s second tier Bundesliga league. He finished the season 23-22-0 with five shutouts and a 2.81 goals against average over 46 games.

Briggs played 12 games with the Reign in the team’s 2008-09 inaugural season. He achieved a 17-11-2 record with a 2.43 goals against average before moving to the Portland Pirates of the AHL where he was 7-5-0 with a 2.85 gaa in 12 games. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native played his rookie ECHL season with the Idaho Steelheads. In that 2007-08 campaign Briggs was 17-11-2 with a 2.36 gaa in 26 games and was selected to the ECHL National Conference All-Star Team.
