GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl announced that goaltender Mike Brodeur has been returned from Norfolk of the American Hockey League. Greenville is the ECHL affiliate of Norfolk of the AHL and Chicago of the National Hockey League.
It was the first call-up to the AHL for Brodeur, who was selected in the seventh round (211th overall) by Chicago in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and who is under contract to Chicago.
In his first professional season, the 22-year-old Brodeur replaced starter Adam Munro after the first period on April 1 against Bridgeport and made 11 saves in 38:54. Brodeur, who spent training camp with Norfolk, is 18-15-6 with a goals against of 2.76 and a save percentage of .925. He leads the ECHL in shootout percentage with 91.4 percent, stopping 32 of 35 attempts, and is tied for the league lead with six shootout wins.
