Bruins Sign Former Everblade Curry

BOSTON – The Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed former Florida Everblades defensemen Sean Curry.

Selected in the seventh round (211th overall) by Carolina in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-5 and 227-pound Curry had seven points (1g-6a) and 77 penalty minutes in 32 games for Florida as a rookie in 2002-03 while also playing in the American Hockey League where he had two assists and 62 penalty minutes in 35 games with Lowell.

The 25 year old signed with the Everblades for 2005-06, but was called up to the AHL on Oct. 10 and had eight points (4g-4a) and 144 penalty minutes in 72 regular season games and one assist and 20 penalty minutes in six playoff games for Providence.

He returned to Providence in 2006-07 and had a career-high five goals and 13 points with 122 penalty minutes in 64 regular season games and 11 points (2g-9a) and 28 penalty minutes in 13 playoff games.
