Buffalo Signs Bonneau

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed left wing Jimmy Bonneau, who has played in the ECHL each of his first three professional seasons.

The 23 year old played for Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati in 2007-08 and had four assists and 61 penalty minutes in 18 regular season games and appeared in three Kelly Cup Playoff games. He also played in the American Hockey League where he had one goal and five penalty minutes in six games for Hamilton.

Selected in the eighth round (241st overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Bonneau had seven points (2g-5a) and 89 penalty minutes in 46 regular season games and 23 penalty minutes in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games for Cincinnati in 2006-07 while also playing for Hamilton where he had 59 penalty minutes in nine games.

In his first professional season in 2005-06 he had six points (1g-5a) and 137 penalty minutes in 65 games with Long Beach.
