Burt returns to Everblades

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Cameron Burt for the 2014-15 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Burt, 27, returns to Florida after posting six points (1g-5a) in 14 games played the Everblades last spring. Burt was acquired on March 13 from the Ontario Reign where he totaled 22 points (5g-17a) in 32 games. In addition, the 5-10, 170-pound blueliner collected six points (1g-5a) in nine games played with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

Burt posted a career best 38 points (2g-36a) in 61 appearances with Ontario during the 2012-13 season when he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team.

The Detroit, Michigan native orchestrated a productive collegiate career at R.I.T. amassing 138 points (43g-95a) in 147 games played from 2008-12, including a 47-point, 16-goal campaign in 2009-10.
