Canucks Acquire Former Gladiator Sharrow

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League announced that they have acquired former Gwinnett Gladiators defenseman Jimmy Sharrow from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for former Columbia Inferno right wing Jesse Schultz.

The Victoria Salmon Kings are the ECHL affiliate of Vancouver of the NHL and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

As a rookie in 2005-06, the 22-year-old Sharrow had 10 points (3g-7a) in 23 games with Gwinnett and 19 points (2g-17a) in 47 games with Chicago of the AHL.

Selected in the fourth round (110th overall) by Atlanta in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2 and 198-pound defenseman had 18 points (4g-14a) in 42 games for Chicago of the AHL in 2006-07.
