BRAMPTON, Ontario – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and AHL’s St, John’s IceCaps, announced the signing of Taylor Carnevale to a contract for the 2016-17 ECHL season.
Carnevale, 25, is coming off a breakout year in Germany’s DEL2 league with the EC Kassel Huskies. In 33 games played, he netted 44 points (14g-30a). In the 2014-15 season, he split the campaign between Italy’s Asiago and HC Bolzano in the top hockey league in Austria. In 13 games with Asiago that season, he recorded 16 points (10g-6a).
His first full season of professional hockey took place in the 2013-14 season as he suited up for EC Bad Nauheim in Germany’s DEL2 league. He immediately established himself as an offensive dynamo during his first season in the professional ranks picking up 46 points (17g-29a) in 40 games.
Carnevale suited up for five contests with the Utah Grizzlies following the completion of his junior career in the 2012-13 season.
Carnevale was an Ontario Hockey League standout during his junior career. He appeared in 287 OHL games with five different teams from 2007-12. He amassed a total of 212 points (89g-123a) throughout his OHL career and even jumped to the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes to collect another two goals and three assists in ten games played.
His best season of junior hockey came in 2010-11, which he split between the Barrie and Windsor. In a combined 63 games played, he scored 70 points (35g-35a).
