Carolina Signs Gove, Aucoin

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes announced that they have signed former Johnstown center David Gove and center Keith Aucoin, who played one game with the Florida Everblades in 2001-02. The Florida Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Hurricanes and Lowell of the American Hockey League.

In his first full professional season in 2001-02, the 27-year-old Gove was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game and scored 49 points (17g-32a) in 54 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games with Johnstown and six points (2g-4a) in 17 regular season games with Grand Rapids of the AHL.

In 2004-05 with Providence of the AHL, the 5-9 and 190-pound Gove had 31 points (13g-18a) in 70 regular season games and six points (3g-3a) in 17 playoff games while Aucoin led the team with 45 assists and was third on the team with 66 points in 72 regular season games and ranked second on the team in the postseason with 18 points (4g-14a) in 17 games.
